How much does Jacob and Sons charge for local moving?
Moves 1 bedroom or less we provide 2 professional movers and a box truck at a hourly rate between $99 – $125
Moves 2 bedrooms + we provide 3 professional movers and a box truck at a hourly rate of $125 – $155
- You will be charged from the time the crew starts working at your location to the time they finish unloading at your destination, Plus a flat fee of one hour for travel time if you are moving within 30 miles.
- If you need packing materials or boxes we do have them for purchase on the truck. The estimate does not include packing material (boxes, shrink wrap, etc…) for fragile items (TV’s, glasses, etc.) unless it is included in your estimate.
- We also provide full packing services, contact your moving consulate for a flat fee.

How far in advance should you book movers?
If you know a few months ahead of time, book your movers then. If you know one month ahead of time, contact your movers immediately. The schedule is done on a first come basis, To ensure you get the day you want please book that date as far in advance as possible.
What insurance is included with my move?
Your move comes standard with protection of $0.60 per pound per item up to $10,000 which we will provide free of charge
You can always contact a third party insurance company to additionally protect your belongings.

You can also check your existing homeowners/rental insurance policy to find out if your move is covered
How much does Jacob and Sons charge for storage?
Storage must be elected before the items are picked up. As a service to our customer, we can provide the first 30 days of storage free. After 30 days the customer can pay monthly for additional storage at the rate of .35 per cubic foot with a minimum charge of $120.00. The fee will need to be paid at the 1st of each month or be subject to late fees.
